Philips voice prompts assist individuals with using their AED and in the event of SCA. The first step is to make sure that the person is lying flat on their back on a hard surface. If they are not, you will need to move them to a flat surface. Once they are on a flat surface, you will need to check for signs of life. This includes checking for a pulse and for breathing.

If the person is not breathing and does not have a pulse, then they are in cardiac arrest and you will need to use the defibrillator. If the person is breathing and has a pulse, then they are not in cardiac arrest and you should not use the defibrillator.

The next step is to turn on the defibrillator. Once it is turned on, it will give you clear, calm voice instructions on what to do next. These instructions will guide you through each step of defibrillation, including CPR coaching.

It is important to follow the instructions of the defibrillator exactly. If you do not, you could harm the person or yourself. Once you have followed all of the instructions, the defibrillator will deliver the shock to the person's heart.

After the shock has been delivered, you will need to check for signs of life again. If the person is still not breathing and does not have a pulse, then you will need to deliver another shock. You can continue to deliver shocks until the person begins to breathe and has a pulse, or until medical help arrives.
