The Philips HeartStart XL Defibrillator is a lightweight and portable device, weighing just under 14 lbs., making it easy to transport throughout the hospital to the site where cardiac care is needed. This combination manual device with automated external defibrillator capabilities is designed to provide lifesaving defibrillation therapy to the first caregiver on the scene, whether they are an ACLS or BLS clinician. In AED mode, voice prompts and text messages provide step-by-step guidance to BLS users throughout the defibrillation process, while the HeartStart XL continuously monitors and displays the patient's ECG in real-time. This allows users to quickly and accurately assess the patient's condition and provide the most appropriate treatment.

Upon the arrival of ACLS personnel, the HeartStart XL can be quickly and easily switched between AED and manual mode, granting operators access to its advanced therapeutic features. These features include selectable energy (2 to 200 Joules), non-invasive pacing (optional), SpO2 (optional) monitoring, and synchronized cardioversion. With these capabilities, the HeartStart XL is an invaluable tool for providing life-saving care.
