CURLIN 6000 User Manual

The Moog/Curlin 6000 CMS Ambulatory Pump is a ambulatory multi-therapy electronic infusion device capable of Continuous, PCA, PCEA, Subcutaneous, TPN, Intermittent, and Variable modes. In addition to its dependable and reliable performance, the pump can be used with Moog’s new error reduction software, Protocol Library Safety System, providing the ability to upload pre-validated drug protocols or patient prescriptions and eliminating the risk of unintended infusion.

The resolution and continuity of flow have a significant impact on how medication is delivered to patients. It is essential to have an understanding of these attributes when administering infusions to sensitive patient populations or when infusing short half-life drugs that are delivered at a low infusion rate.

Continuous therapy delivers a constant programmed rate of infusion, while intermittent therapy delivers the infusion therapy in programmed intervals and at rates of specified amounts of infusates. Variable therapy provides 24 specified programs of varying amounts, rates, and times of delivery. TPN therapy is designed to allow a level rate of infusion of parenteral nutritional products with the option of tapering at the beginning and/or end of the infusion. PCA therapy is designed for therapies requiring a continuous rate of infusion, patient controlled demand boluses, or both.

The CURLIN 6000 is a flexible, easy-to-use, and safe infusion device that reduces the total cost of pump ownership. The device's multiple therapy flexibility provides the ability to meet specific workflow needs, while its easy-to-use programming and menu-driven protocols result in an extremely user-friendly experience.
